A simple Ramadan Quran routine for UK families

Published 25 September 2026 · Rahber Institute teaching team

In short

Keep Ramadan Quran goals small and daily: a few pages for parents, a short surah or Qaida lesson for children, and one shared family recitation time.

  • Set goals by the day, not the month.
  • Pick one shared family recitation time.
  • Keep regular classes going, with adjusted timings.

Plan around UK timings

Iftar times in the UK change a lot depending on the time of year, so check your local mosque timetable and move lesson times to when your child has energy.

A sample daily plan

  • After Fajr or before school: parents read a few pages
  • After school: child's regular Quran lesson
  • After iftar: 10 minutes family recitation
  • Weekends: revise the surahs learned this week

Goals for children

Choose one short surah or dua to learn during the month. Finishing it by Eid gives a real sense of achievement.

Parents also ask

Should we pause Quran classes in Ramadan?

Many families keep classes going with adjusted timings, as Ramadan is a great time to build the habit.
