The short answer
Tajweed is learned by reciting to a teacher who corrects you — and one-to-one online lessons do exactly that. At Rahber, each student recites to their own teacher for 30–40 minutes, 2 or 5 days a week, on Zoom, Google Meet or Microsoft Teams. Fees are £40 a month for 2 days or £60 a month for 5 days, and the first class is free.
What you learn in Tajweed lessons
Makharij — letter points
Where each Arabic letter comes from in the mouth and throat, so every letter sounds correct.
Rules of noon and meem
Izhar, idgham, iqlab and ikhfa — when to merge, hide or change sounds.
Madd — lengthening
When to stretch a vowel, and for how long.
Waqf — stopping
Where to pause and how to start again, so the meaning stays correct.

Tajweed questions
What is Tajweed?
Tajweed is the set of rules for reciting the Qur'an correctly — how each letter is pronounced, where sounds come from, and when to lengthen, merge or pause.
Can I learn Tajweed online properly?
Yes, because lessons are one-to-one. Your teacher hears every letter you recite and corrects you straight away — which is exactly how Tajweed is traditionally learned.
I can already read the Qur'an. Is Tajweed for me?
Yes. Most students who join can read but want to recite correctly and beautifully. The teacher checks your level in the free trial and starts from there.
How long does it take to learn Tajweed?
It depends on your starting point and practice. With regular one-to-one lessons and daily practice, most students notice clear improvement within a few months.
How much do Tajweed lessons cost?
£40 per month for 2 days a week, or £60 per month for 5 days a week. The first trial class is free.
When are lessons available in the UK?
Teachers are available 24/7, so you can request times before school, after school, in the evening or at weekends in UK time. We confirm your teacher and slot on WhatsApp.
Can I have a female Tajweed teacher?
Yes. You can request a male or female teacher when you enquire.
Which apps are used for lessons?
Lessons run on Zoom, Google Meet or Microsoft Teams.
