Short answer
To learn Quran from scratch, begin with the Arabic alphabet, complete a primer such as Noorani Qaida (usually 2–6 months), then read short surahs from Juz Amma with a teacher, and add tajweed rules and translation as you progress. Short daily practice and 1-to-1 correction make the biggest difference.
| Month (approx.) | Milestone |
|---|---|
| 1 | Alphabet and short vowels |
| 2–3 | Joining letters, long vowels, tanween, shaddah |
| 3–6 | Finish Noorani Qaida; start Juz Amma |
| 6–12 | Read fluently from the mushaf with basic tajweed |
